Now why in the world would you want to control your presentation with your phone?

1. I can see my slide notes on the screen of my phone.
2. If I turn a different mode on – I can see my slides – on my phone.
3. As a remote – running over WiFi – I get a much more consistent and solid connection to my computer than I would from Apple’s IR remote or a third party remote.
4. I can see a timer on my phone – to keep me on time with my presentation.
5. The software has a pointer that I can use over my Keynote to highlight sections on the screen.
6. Honestly – I can’t find my Apple remote – and this is much better than setting my laptop in front of me and hitting the space bar.

This is truly awesome – I am sold. And – it cost 99 cents! Imagine spending a buck and getting a remote for your presentation. It’s not another gadget to carry around or loose – I always have my phone.

I am in geek heaven – not really but at least on a geek high.

Install the App on your iPhone

You will have to install an app on your computer (Pointer Server) – which you can download from their website. It might add an additional 2 minutes to your install – but well worth the time.

I remember when I sat through the same presentation seven years ago. The puppets and slide projectors are now collecting dust as we strive to present modern tools in creating rich media presentations.

Our goal is not to dazzle anyone – I can’t do that. We do want to challenge you to look at your audience and speak in their language. Don’t be scared to try something new and know when to ask for help.
